NYC – DAY 1 – A photo essay

I arrived in New York City a bit later than expected. What with heavy traffic on the tarmac and something about needing to add weight to the plane, we were a bit slow getting out of Detroit.

The flight was smooth and fast. The clouds a feast for my eyes. The only rotten thing about the flight was the fingernail I sat on that poked my thigh. (Not my fingernail, by the way. G-to-the-ross.)

I took a cab to my hotel, unpacked, freshened up and went out in search of one of my favourite NYC restaurants, Carnegie Deli for some matzoh ball soup, pickles and cheesecake. Delicious!

Tomorrow is Day 1 of the Backspace Writers Conference. I’m nervous but also thrilled to be here. I love Manhattan!

Here are a few photos I took…

  1. New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps
And find I’m a number one, top of the list, king
    of the hill,
    A number one!
Great photos, Vanessa. Enjoy the big Apple!
