Poem 102 – Durkheim & The Flat Globe

Durkheim & The Flat Globe

we talk about Durkheim
religion suicide pathos
research affect causality

academia is a swiffer duster
cleaning out cobwebs in my brain
flipping on switches of electric

pulses – zaps like skipping ropes
pounding concrete repetitious exercises
that hurt a little because it’s

all so big the information
the implications
the lightning-bolt terms

makes my brain do that thing
when it visualizes a globe &
cuts a line down the ocean

then lays the world flat so
my heart can see how we’re
all connected how water & land

air & sky are languages
that everything is covered
in stardust & centred with heat
