POEM A DAY – April 1

April First’s Fools

four astronauts orange-clad and courageous
houston and the crew on the ground
the moon, in her full-pink glory

N who is saying yes to all invitations
M who is poetry-ing her way out of trauma
S who is facing the stuck-ness with dignity

C manager of abundant integrity
the other C CEO of solitary strength
still another C fairytale mermaid goddess mother

I query: why not be the fool?
a fool foolishes into the deepest
pockets of pure lunacy where

impossible dreams stretch
reach blast into the milky
highways of imprudent

joys – o, yes, only the rash
itch the risky…kiss that mouth
voice that rage think that thought

heed o heed the fool’s errands!
be not hasty even in the heat
for the foolish-est fool sees

curiosity’s truest love in the
daring-est decisions…foolery
is fullest when formed fundamentally

look up! fools rising!

Cups rise for the fools! Here! Here! And if you didn’t know…The Artemis II is a rocket is heading to circle the moon! And, for those goddess enthusiasts, Artemis is the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon!
