Let Yourself Be Seen In A Way That Feels Unfamiliar
From https://gettherapybirmingham.com/what-is-the-golden-shadow-in-jungian-psychology/
On the aching hip of this summer-blush morning I contemplate my disowned potential. I wear a long yellow shirt the colour of everyone else’s light. My white-hair bangs refuse to curl in the way I think they should. My swollen stomach presses against the wooden desk, and the fork on the plastic snack bag beside the laptop reflects a brilliance that momentarily blinds me, black-blotting these letters as I type. It is not only unfamiliar but uncomfortable and unnatural and undoing for me to let you…to give you…to poem you the disowned potential of my anger. That attack that occurred? That verbal assault and its collateral damage, its gory losses – I am very angry about it. The mirror is lifted, a golden shadow behind me thresholding. I can turn around and see me any time. Step into the potential of radical rage. Stop denying, reclaim the gaze, embody the anger. But not yet. Five hundred full moons have passed since my birth and Monday is a blue one. Give me till then.
