What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

What is TEDx?
Independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
Why am I so honoured and excited to be giving a TEDx?
Not sure if you noticed, but Sarah Knight’s TEDx talk had over 2 MILLION VIEWS. She got a book deal, and is livin’ it up taking good care of her F***s.
Giving a TEDx talk is a GIANT opportunity. One that I am taking very seriously – to heart and mind and soul. The platform that is TEDx is vast and life-changing. I’m really hoping that it garners some super-duper success for me and my idea about The Original Stories. But, more importantly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my ideas in a short, powerful talk. It’s gonna be amazing.
When and where is my TEDx Talk?
My talk is on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 3:50pm at the Chatham Capitol Theatre in Chatham, ON. (238 King Street West, N7M 1E7).
How does the event work?
It’s a full-day event beginning at 8am and going until 6pm. All talks and performances happen at the Capitol Theatre with breaks for snacks and lunch (you buy your own). You buy a ticket, then arrive bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for a day of incredible talks.
How much is a ticket?
Good question. It’s $75.00 for a ticket. Remember, it’s for a full day event. That includes a very amazing line-up of speakers and performers.

So, who else is speaking/performing?
This is a wicked line-up, friends. We’ve got musicians, scientists, writers, DJs, world-travellers and more! There are 14 people ready to rock your world.
Okay, so you’re still not sure you can swing it? Maybe you can’t get the time off work…or it’s just a little too steep of a ticket price? Look, if you’re not there, I’m gonna trust that you’ve got a solid reason. HOWEVER, you’re not so easily off the hook (hizzle?). Because the gift of a TEDx keeps on givin’ after the actual event. Each of our talks/performances are recorded and posted on youtube. The TEDx youtube. And this is a big deal. So, what you ABSOLUTELY MUST DO is watch, like and share the be-jeebus out of our videos. It’s free. And, I can guarantee that it will be good for your soul.
If you have any questions, please ask away.
I really, really, really, really, really hope you can make it!
I’ll have special event-only The Original Stories chapbooks for sale…and I promise you’ll be affected by my idea. In what way? Well, we can talk about it, can’t we! Which is the whole point!
