POEM A DAY – February 12

Two poems today…but one is super short, so I’m keeping them both on one day. 🙂 Thursday. Let’s go!

Watch An Animal Today

two animals in my inbox this morning
poem-wrapped gifts: an owl, a rabbit, then
walking into the mechanic’s, a low-gliding
crow screaming over me en-route to a
naked maple in the field behind the building.
watch an animal today. look for one or
simply wait and one will come. this is the
guaranteed magical-realm veil-break
we witness when we pay attention. listen
today, to the throaty screech of a baby squirrel
or the activist holler of the blue jay. feel the
warmth of dog’s breath, the vibration of cat
purr. when you are animal engaged, you are
energetically changed.
