I’ve got another fantastic interview to share with you! In this just-under-an-hour conversation, I talk to poet and self-pub queen Chantel Daniels! I first connected with Chantel for an editing gig, and then we met in the flesh at a poetry reading, and we’ve cultivated a super-duper writing and sisterly friendship over the years. We’ve shared writing retreats, hot tub chats, and later this summer, we’ll be sharing the stage for the first time! I’m sooo pumped!
In our talk, we discuss self-publishing (including editing, design/formatting, manuscript organization and more!), rejections, the business of writing, the intimacy and vulnerability of writing poetry, and what’s next for this prolific writer.
Chantel’s debut, self-published poetry collection is entitled Apocalypse Grief Manual! It was already long-listed for an award – and well deserved for it!

Chantel created this very informative, super cheeky and funny video about self-publishing that I just love! It’s very inspiring, and you can see the tremendous effort she put into editing, props and great scriptwriting!
