NATIONAL POETRY MONTH – CONTEST INFO FOR WORLD RECORD!
Commaful, the on-line writer’s community I posted about in August 2017, is attempting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the LARGEST POETRY CONTEST IN THE WORLD! They are attempting to beat the current world record for most poems submitted in a contest. Currently, the record amount of submissions is: 22,703. That’s a lot, right? Well – it’s time to break that record!
Here’s the blurb from Commaful: Come set a world record during World Poetry Month! Commaful is hosting a poetry contest that has been approved by the Guinness Book of World Records to attempt the record for the world’s largest poetry contest. Every entrant will be listed on the contest page after the record is broken and the winning poems will be showcased as well! Your poem could be part of history! Submit your poem here.
Here are the rules:
SUBMISSION TIMELINE: April 5th 2018, 12:00 am ~ September 5th 2018, 11:59 pm (your time zone)
Rules
🌄 Any poem with graphic themes will be disqualified.
❗ To submit, you MUST have a commaful account. Accounts will be checked to make sure they are a unique individual.
🙌 Please submit by using the tag: world record poetry. Only entries with this tag will be considered.
🖊 Each person can only submit ONE poem. No exceptions!
I attempted to persuade the Guinness book of records to accept my record attempt for the most poems written in a year and they refused saying they couldn’t define a poem!! From 20th August 2002 until 29th August 2002 I wrote 2171 poems.
