The final days of National Poetry Month are upon us! I hope that you’ve taken some time this month to read poetry, write poetry, share poetry! And, of course, that this becomes a habit and National Poetry Month becomes National Poetry Forever!
There are some local poetry events happening over the next few weeks, I’d like to share!
THE CANADIAN WRITERS SUMMIT
Canadian Writers Summit – June 14-17, 2018 – Toronto @ Harbourfront
This is a mega-conference taking place in Toronto that joins groups like the League of Canadian Poets, the Writers Union of Canada (and more!) together for four days of annual meetings, panels, keynote speeches, and readings. Plus, loads of presses/publishers are there too – to meet and sell books. If you’re interested in attending panels and/or learning more about membership, it’s a great conference to attend!
LAURIE SMITH WRITING CLASS – MAY WRITING WORKSHOP!
Editor and poet extraordinaire, Laurie Smith is offering a special ‘all genres’ writing class beginning May 1. “I’m now taking registrations for my May writing workshop. Special 5 weeks for the price of 4 weeks – May 1-29. Tuesdays, 7-9 pm, still at Amica. All genres this time – poetry, prose, memoir, etc. Limited seats so fee has to be in to confirm your spot by April 27th.
