Dog days
dies caniculares

the dog days are coming
can you feel the howl of star
power shifting in the galaxy?

ready your skin!
gather your shade!
hide your secrets in tender petals
soon to wilt in adoration of
the Great Dog

whether we follow the stars or not
they follow us – gain & catch up
take nibbles of our heels
remind us where we come from
