POEM A DAY – January 1

Here we go! I’ll be writing one poem every day this year. I’ll do my best to post it at the beginning of the day…but that may not be consistent. Each poem I write is new, hand-written first (usually!), typed into a Canva image, posted here and posted on my instagram. If the poem is inspired by anything/anyone, I’ll be sure to acknowledge accordingly.

Happy start of a new year, my friends! I hope you enjoyed whatever festivities you partook in last night…including diving into sleep well before the clock struck twelve!

Today’s poem is short…

*Note: I really love this format and the font, however, it won’t allow me to use italics…so I may sometimes have to change the font if italics are necessary. And, if the poem is longer…it may not fit nicely into the image, so I may sometimes post the poem directly into the post.

Here’s some visuals to my writing process…thank you, Charis, for the beautiful notebook!!

*Another note…er, an invitation really. If you have a line or a word or an image you’d like me to use as inspiration for a poem, do share it! Email me: shieldsvanessa@gmail.com.

With love..thanks for reading!
