POEM A DAY – February 25

Below Zero, Again

I’d like to announce that I am ready to farewell my boots
to stop untwisting and yanking up socks that come half off when
said boots get stuck as I almost-fall trying to balance, heavied
by a picky-feathered winter parka – I’m done, thank you.

I burned my forearm whilst taking dinner out of the oven
it stung so good. I’d like to announce that I am ready to hello my bathing suit
to sticky-twist into it, sweat-laden and cellulite-ed, trying to balance
against the bathroom sink, hands slippery with sunscreen – I’m ready, thank you.

And THANK YOU! We sold our Feedback Forum Poetry class!
