POEM A DAY – April 6

Monday Couplets

last night’s schnitzel
is today’s chicken parm

the dog toys are
scattered on the floor

like single sentences
there are two boxes

of three cadbury
creme eggs in the

cupboard and four
giant smores cookies

on the counter
the marshmallow

sticks to the tinfoil
my pants are tight

around my waist
what waist? Ha!

I’ll see a doctor soon
about my diseases

see what he says
about my seeing

when double-vision
isn’t my super power

it’s a villain who steals
my motivation to work
