On Writing

POEM A DAY – April 23

I was looking for a new journal, and pulled one off the shelf (heck, yeah, I have a shelf of fresh new journals!). It had some writing in it! Some stickers too…a forgotten start, which I realize was due to the wide girth of the lines on the page. Too wide! But, the writing was actually two poems! And so, today and tomorrow’s poems are from this find!

*CONTENT WARNING – THIS POEM IS SEXY!*

1.
his tongue is serrated knife
I show him how to butter

2.
I slide ice cubes on his skin
watch it rise
guide his parts
to heighten
my warmth

3.
my thighs pulse
weeping oceans
on the shore of
his bottom lip
in his classroom
mouth

And…I’m teaching a poetry workshop in May! Save the date or register anytime!
