POEM A DAY – July 23 & We Got (Ford City) Lit!

Selkie haiku

my skin, sealed to pages
my heart bobbing in the sea
two storms colliding

I pulled a Selkie card from the Folklore Oracle today…feeling the split of my writer self and my mother self. Oof.

WE GOT LIT AT THE INAUGURAL FORD CITY LIT NIGHT – HEART TOUR STOP #2 COMPLETE!

Thanks to the robust crowd that came out last evening to the Serenity Cafe in New Song Church. What a delightful venue for our Open (Not) Mic (we didn’t end up using the mic! ha!). We went from three writers to ten…or more! It was a beautiful night of poetry, performance and storytelling! Thank you to our amazing host Karen Morand, and the Serenity Cafe team! HEART TOUR STOP #2 IS COMPLETE! We did it!
