HELLO!
The hubby and I had a fancy date to go see Lionel Richie at the DTE Theatre over the weekend. It was AMAZING!

Summer vacation has officially started for the kidlets. We have been spending much time together – poolside, inside the pool – playing cards, watching movies, playing badminton and backgammon. We have promised each to reach three novels this summer.

I’m reading the following:
Marijuana Murders by my dear friend and mystery writer, Mark Bacon.
Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Eagan
And I’ve pre-ordered:
Stormrise by the incredible Jillian Boehme – who is also known as the great ‘Authoress’ and/or Miss Snark for many, many years on-line. She recently revealed her identity so that we could support her burgeoning writing career! It’s very worth following her blog! Follow and support HERE! Boehme is a dazzling light in the literary world – I can’t wait to get my eyes and hands on her first novel! Congratulations!
Daughter of Family G by Ami Mckay – author of Canadian greats like The Virgin Cure and The Birth House! She is one of my all-time favourite writers. Sheesh. I love her! She writes a great newsletter as well so be sure to subscribe. It’s a wonderful way to support your favourite writer!
I’m also reading three manuscripts by local writer! Wow! I’m swimming in delicious poetry! #lovemyjob
And…YOU’RE INVITED!
There’s still a chance for you to WIN A SIGNED COPY OF CASEY PLETT’S LITTLE FISH!
All you have to do is put a comment in this blog! Let me know what you’re reading! First comment – first win!

Of course, Gertrude’s Writing Room has some fun options this summer too!
Me? What will I be writing? Ho-hum – welllllll! I’ll be back on Hangman with the mother-of-all-rewrites, plus edits on the poetry manuscript and new work on two new novels whose characters are having tea together in my brain.
What writerly things are you up to this summer? What are you reading? Do share, friends!
Stop by at Gertrude’s too, okay? See you then.
