POEM A DAY – January 27

Colour Poem with Haiku

The garbage truck is painted deep burgundy and soft yellow
The garbage man’s coat is neon orange and the garbage bins are navy blue

The snow is look-at-me milk nestling up the grey-brown bark of the maple tree
The sky is tri-coloured wool: quiet pink hopeful bisque clean ocean

I am coffee contemplative
Periwinkle protest
Cinnamon shame
Sage green
Crone gold

sun’s halo snowbound
power lines icicle toothed
her shy smile melts me

I’ve got the January shadows…brain is askew and the poems are difficult to chisel into shape. So much feel…my body is upheaved. I’m burrowing into love.
