POEM A DAY – MARCH 27

Why The Sun Shines So Brightly Today

I’m certain that today
the spirits are holding up the sun.

That death is sitting on a bench
sipping a strong orange pekoe

in Washington Square Park –
the black fenced in yard

where the dogs play. I’m certain
that all the tears shedding today

are made of starlight so the
spirits holding the sun

still feel home.

Friends! I know you’re all holding your breath…anxiously awaiting my writing retreat results! (heee!) DID I FINISH MY NOVEL? (AGAIN!)

I DID! I DID!

I will write a post with photos and more sometime this weekend….thank you for all your love! I could feel it zapping my creativity! And keeping me focused and awake! If you want one word to describe the retreat…MAGIC. No contest. Utterly, wonderfully, abundantly…so much magic!

Also…

This is Wallace Esquire Shields the First. The newest addition (edition? my brain is mush!) to our family. We bring. him home tomorrow!

Oh my goddess. I can’t even. He’s gonna rock our world.

PUPPY BREATH! BRING IT! If I’m slow on email/text responses…he’s why. 🙂
