THE BATTLE IS ON, YO.

In just two days, I’ll be putting the peddle to the metal and driving myself and Marty Gervais (Windsor’s Poet Laureate and my publisher – the publisher of Black Moss Press) to the metropolis we call Toronto so we can participate in the 2016 IFOA/Poetry NOW Battle of the Bards.

In a poetic nutshell (what type of nut would that be, you think?), 20 poets from across Canada have 5 minutes to read their poetry in front of several judges. The winner gets invited to the International Festival of Authors as well as some pretty cool press in Poetry NOW magazine…and gets mad props from friends and family and fans!

I participated in this event last year, and now that I’m a veteran battler, I’m super psyched to get up there and strut my words. Ahem…I have no idea what poems I’ll read yet! #gah I’ll be ready though.

If you’re in the GTA or you’re such a devoted fan that you’ll get your amazing arse to Toronto for the event (no pressure!), here are the details:
